My Kmart Super Doubles

Total OOP: $5.81 + tax

Yesterday, I went to visit my best friend from college, and we shopped at Kmart for the Super Doubles Event. It wasn't my best trip - I had some coupon/cashier issues (see bottom) - but I managed to find some great deals. Here's what I got:

4 boxes of Rice Krispies - 4/$9
- 4 $1 coupons from VocalPoint
- 4 $1 doubles
= 4/$1 ($.25)
Also generated a mail-in-rebate for a $5 gift card!

3 Pert Plus for Men shampoos - $2.50 each
- 3 $1.50 coupons
- 3 $1 doubles
= 3/FREE

2 Hartz Crunch n Clean bones - $3.59 each
- 2 $2 coupons
- 2 $1.59 doubles
=2/FREE

2 CoverGirl powder foundation - $7.49 and $3.75 (BOGO 50% off)
- 2 $1 coupons
- 2 $1 doubles
= 2/$7.24 ($3.62 each) (I was THRILLED to get such a good deal on these!)

2 Dove deodorant - $3.99 each
- 2 $2 coupons
- 2 $1.99 doubles
=2/FREE

1 pack of Bic razors - $3.49
- $2 coupon
- $1.49 double
= FREE

1 Sally Hansen tweezers - $4.29
- $2 coupon
- $2 double
= $.29

1 Venom energy drink - $2.29
- FREE product coupon
= FREE

1 Renuzit spray - $1.89
- $1 coupon
- $.89 double
= FREE

1 Rimmel mascara - $3.29
- $2 coupon
Did not double (read explanation at bottom)
= $1.29

1 pack of Trident gum - $1 (the filler item)

Subtotal: $10.81
-$5/$50 Kmart coupon
Total: $5.81 (Only $.81 if you count the gift card!)
Total OOP (including tax): $9.40 (or $4.40 with gift card)
I also received a coupon for a FREE box of Milk Bones (up to $3.99) for buying the Hartz bones!

This was the problem I had: My $5/$50 coupon wouldn't go through on its own, so my cashier's supervisor told her to apply it to the Cover Girl powder since it was over $5. Because she did this, the last coupon I gave her (the one for Rimmel) wouldn't double, and I ended up losing $1.29. After spending 20 minutes waiting in line, checking out and fixing the $5/$50 issue, I decided my time was more valuable and let the $1.29 go. Sometimes it's just best to walk away.
